Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions is a specialist geotechnical engineering consultancy, providing innovative geotechnical solutions to a broad range of engineering problems. GDG has offices in Dublin, Belfast, London and Edinburgh. The company developed from a strong background in geomechanics and applied geotechnical research. Through application of these skills, we offer progressive and reliable geotechnical designs across a range of industry problems. GDG provides a unique engineering service that combines the state of the art research with industry and leads to the most efficient geotechnical designs. We are actively involved in a diverse range of international projects ranging from major civil infrastructure projects, harbours/marinas, development of offshore oil/gas fields, onshore and offshore windfarms, and commercial structures. Our clients include large civil and building
contractors, project developers and engineering consulting firms. Our principal areas of expertise focus on Infrastructure, Renewables, Offshore, and Structures. In addition to coordinating the SAFE-10-T project, GDG are coordinating the H2020 GoSAFE RAIL and DESTination RAIL projects, which are also focused on safety assessment for infrastructure networks. GDG are also project partners in the Demogravi3 project which will deploy a novel gravity base for the offshore wind sector. In addition, they have been Work Package leaders for the FP7 Projects INFRARISK and RAIN that developed risk assessment and decision support tools for infrastructure networks due to natural hazards, and LEANWIND a project focused on reducing the cost of offshore wind.
